The Rescue Dive Course is considered as the next level in training after your Advanced Diver certification. It is designed to teach you about diver stress in conjunction with accident prevention.

Scuba divers describe the Rescue Diver course as the most challenging, yet most rewarding course they’ve ever taken. Why? Because you learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver, knowing that you can help others if needed.

During the course, you learn to become a better buddy by practicing problem solving skills until they become second nature. This applies as much to yourself through learning self rescue methods, as to your fellow divers.

Duing your Rescue Course you will out of your comfort zone when realising how quickly diver accidents can happen. On completion of your Rescue course you will feel more comfortable in a rescue scenario and spotting potential hazards.

This course isn't just fun – it’s serious, but still allows for lots of laughter in between the focused learning.

Pre-requisites

  • Advanced Diver certified

  • Minimum age 15 (no max age limit)

  • Under 15 must be accompanied by an adult

  • Be medically fit to dive - refer to dive medical requirements

  • Must be certified in First Aid and CPR prior to course certification

Course Outline

The Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills.

Topics include:

  • Self rescue
  • Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
  • Emergency management and equipment
  • Rescuing panicked divers
  • Rescuing unresponsive divers

All scuba gear is included, is brand new and available for use during course.

Duration

  • 1 x Intro Night (2 hours)
  • 1 x Day in pool
  • 1 x Day at coast (shore dive)

Cost: $799.00 per person

Excludes transport and accomodation at the coast.
